Voice thread

 

I use the Voice thread tools in addition to the regular class welcoming video for added communication and feedback to and from students. It also addresses itself to the bulleted point in standards one that describes growth in teaching strategy. 

 

This tool allows for students feedback and/or comments to not only faculty but to all learners.  They can respond here with text,, audio of video.  This enhances the communication aspect and transparency of the classroom and encourages barrier free pathways to promote participation. 

 

The combination of the regular welcome class video and the Voice thread ones promote different learning styles and are best practices in learning strategy, offering a multifaceted avenue for students to use. 

 

The technology is built in to the website requiring no download or special hardware.  Student should be able to use this tool "out-of-the-box" easily and without much problem. In the event they do have problems they can contact me or technical support for help.

 

I have also included a link to the Voice thread site allowing students with older browsers or lack of necessary plug ins to be able to see the video and respond.
