Learning Styles

This artifact appeals to the bullet point that addresses student learning styles.  The idea that students are coming prepared to an online class is rare. Most of them have not got the technical experties or the time managment skills that will make them successful in an online class.

 

The learning styles survey that I give them allows me to understand what the complex emotional and intellectual makeup of my class is and how to adjust my teaching style and content if appropriate. my opinion. Even if there are some veteran online students in my class they will benefit from the reaffirming indicators in this (formative) survey.

These are my directions to students:

For one of our first assignments you will be taking
a survey to determine your preference in learning based
on categories. Your learning style preference is very
important to your success not only in this class but in
all of your academic endeavors.  The link below will
take you to the learning styles survey.  There are  24
questions  and a link to select after you have
completed the survey to learn more about your preferences.

  to the survey?

• Do you agree or disagree?  why?

• How do you plan to use the survey information to promote your success in this class?
