Academic Dishonesty

Copyright Issues:

This is another example of a video that will emphasize the serious nature of copyright infringement. I use this in partnership with other academic dishonesty concerns and lump them into one learning experience.

Acceptable Use:

Most all Colleges and Universities have developed some kind of "Acceptable Use" policy for their employees to abide by. The policy explains in detail how to use the electronic resources the college owns in such a way as to maintain the reputation and integrity of the institution and mitigate the vulnerability of errant use. Below is an excerpt of the Acceptable Use policy that I use in my classes and for student's awareness. I have a learning task for them to do after they have completed reading and feel they understand the document:

Academic Dishonesty is a policy that can sometimes be ignored. No consequences, not easily discovered, teachers have more to do than detection, etc. But that is not reality. All institutions and are discovering the critical impact this has. Below is an example of several short: 5-minutes or less) video clips I ask students to watch to drive home the point of how serious Academic Dishonesty is. I also ask them to participate in a learning scenario and discussion after watching the video.
