Student Learning outcomes are step by step learning maps for students to plan with. It is clear expectations of what will happen and what each student will be responsible for achieving for the duration of the course.
I use SLO's in consultation with each student to help them be clearly aware of what is expected from them. The artifact here is an example of an SLO that was written for this certification course.

Students learn SLO appointments as a measure of understanding of the relationships between and among the assignments, assessments and learning objectives and outcomes. They also benefit from how important it is to implement online assessment measures and materials in ways that ensure instrument validity and reliability
