Syllabus and Special Needs

This is included in my syllabus to alert disabled students what to do to receive accommodations from SWC and how to contact the department responsible for them: The syllabus is a central point for the most important course information. Disabled students must know where to go to receive help and our campus has resources for them as long as they ask. I use this and bring it up in class even if there are no disabled or special needs students. We work on a project to understand the syllabus and how important it is to the overall success of the class. In this way it Encourages collaboration and interaction as well as allows me as a faculty to adapt and adjust to create multiple paths to success.
